Job Title: Social Media and Content Manager

Reports to: Senior PR Manager

Employment type: Full time, FTC FOR 12 months covering maternity leave

Based: Burntwood, Hybrid but willing to travel to sites/events around the UK when needed

Salary: Up to £32k DOE

 

 

About the role

The role of the Social Media & Content Marketing Manager is integral to help build brand awareness and stay connected to our target audience. You will be ambitious, confident, and creative with a genuine passion for developing engaging social media output and innovative digital content plans, growing an online community, and tracking growth to support business goals.

You will report to the PR Manager and as part of a collaborative team the Social and Content Marketing Manager will be responsible for showcasing all aspects of what we do and raising positive brand awareness, whilst protecting and improving Busy Bees’ reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the social media and content budget, driving audience engagement to support enrolment, reputation, and overall engagement.
  • Oversee the social campaign calendar, from scheduling and caption writing to campaign tracking, ensuring alignment with our tone of voice. Collaborate with the PR Manager on innovative seasonal campaigns.
  • Handle local marketing efforts, including social inbox management, creating social media guidelines, and developing seasonal toolkits to support centre teams in achieving business goals.
  • Foster community and loyalty through meaningful interactions with our audience, including managing comments, direct messages, and ambassador interactions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (design, acquisition, operations) to drive content initiatives.
  • Ensure all competitions and content are GDPR compliant.
  • Deliver digital content marketing strategies that align with brand and business goals, targeting both new and existing audiences.
  • Create, edit, and curate high-quality content across channels (blogs, social media, email campaigns) in collaboration with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Utilize insights to review the social ecosystem, measure content performance, and optimize strategies for improved ROI.
  • Stay responsive to social trends, producing relevant content and encouraging user-generated content from centres and audiences.
  • Generate weekly and monthly KPI reports with actionable takeaways to enhance ROI, using tools like Google Analytics.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Propose initiatives to boost brand recognition and loyalty.
  • Keep content fresh and engaging by staying updated on industry trends and emerging content formats.

Key skills and experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a social media or similar content marketing role either agency or an in-house marketing team.
  • The fast-paced nature of the organisation necessitates high-level planning and time-management skills, and a creative and flexible approach to work.
  • Analytical mindset, comfortable with date analysis and using it to refine content strategy.
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Experience in managing organic and paid social media campaigns from planning to execution using all content forms as well as social management platforms i.e., Hootsuite.
  • Able to create editorial calendars and content plans for multiple content channels.
  • Experience of using email marketing software, such as Mailchimp or similar.
  • Experience in customer liaison and managing and replying to online reviews, both positive and negative.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships.
  • A genuine passion for content and social media with a desire to keep up to date with the latest trends and best practices.
